Absolutely changed my mind about how well my tools can climb on water ice. Even the dry tooling picks are orders of magnitude better than the water ice picks from grivel. Well worth the price. Just wish that they didn’t need shims to fit the tools, but a small price to pay for great sticks on ice

As far as sharp and pointy things go, these picks are the sharpest and the pointiest. They’re also super hard, they still look new after several pitches of hard, brittle, bone dry ice. They definitely make getting solid sticks a bit easier and they’re going to last a while, I think they’re worth it.
The Ice Hawk picks are amazing. Within a few swings I was sold. These are to stock picks what leashless tools are to straight shaft, leashed tools. The stock picks on Nonmics are good but these are still much better. You get better sticks with fewer swings, using a lot less effort, and with a fraction of the ice disturbance. Get some. You won’t regret it!

I was hoping I would be able to hit upwards with the palm of my hand, on the hammer, but they are all so low profile these days. The advantage of the old hammers was definitely to help with stuck picks!

Took them out, with head weights, and found them to be quite nice. Definitely an improvement in ice displacement over my stock picks.
I tried my friend's in Hyalite and immediately ordered some upon getting service leaving the canyon.
The sticks are noticeably better when compared side by side with newer stock picks on a nomic. After putting them through very high use on a 3 week trip I can safely say that they hold up better than the stock picks. They require a good bit of up keep with a file but there is more to file and they hold their sharpness once filed better than other picks. I like the weight of them with the hammer. It seems to be between that of the micro hammer + weight and a non-weighted nomic.
Such beautifully designed picks. Swing well. I think I'll have to get these for my other set of tools too!
I bought the master scratcher pick for my son. He lives in Bozeman and he requested this for Christmas. He says Beartooth Alpine makes a great product!
