Can't Keep a Good Man Down
Adrien didn't start his athletic career as a climber. His drive, work ethic, and willingness to suffer started in a completely different sport: road bikes. He spent the first half of his life primarily on two wheels, racing road bikes professionally in Europe while living for the flow state found between exertion and nature. Eventually, Adrien needed a change. He left cycling to explore what he had missed and found his new path: the mountains. His professional athletic background had instilled the values that make you get good, and quickly. After an accident in the Sierra Nevadas of California cost him his right leg, his motivation to be the best climber he could be, physically, technically, and mentally, only increased. A long road of apprenticeship in the Cascade mountains, on the walls of Yosemite, and beyond led Adrien to settle Bozeman, Montana where he is equally passionate about exploring his extensive backyard as he is preparing for trips into the world’s bigger mountains with close friends.
Since the Beginning
Adrien has been involved with Beartooth since before we launched. From grinding pitons in our original garage shop to prototype testing to partnering for first ascents, Adrien has given us his time, sweat, and blood for the sole reason of sharing our vision and hunger for better gear. With his critical eye, blunt honesty, and incredible climbing ability, there is no one on our team who more epitomizes what Beartooth Alpine Equipment is about.
